McMillan Marks Continued Ambitions for Bath Rugby
Published: 06 March 2010
Bath Rugby announces the signing of scrum half Mark McMillan on a two year contract.
The talented 26-year-old will be joining Bath from the Glasgow Warriors for the start of 2010-11 season and the number nine is looking forward to joining up with his new Club in the summer.

“I am delighted to be joining Bath Rugby,” admitted Mark. “I have been watching Bath this season and they are playing an exciting brand of rugby with a great squad of players.

“I am really looking forward to becoming part of such a great club with a rich history and a bright future.”

A strong and robust player with good kicking skills, McMillan had two years in the Scottish U18 squad, captaining Scotland in a 35-8 victory in Cardiff in the 2001 Four Home Unions’ tournament. He went on to captain the team in four games in 2000/01 and scored five tries in that season’s campaign, including three against Spain.

Mark made his competition debut for Glasgow in the Celtic Cup victory over Celtic Warriors in September 2003 before he joined Leeds Tykes later that season, scoring four tries in 22 appearances. He then moved to London Wasps in summer 2006 before returning to Glasgow Warriors in summer 2008.

Speaking about the acquisition of the gifted Scotsman, Head Coach Steve Meehan is looking forward to seeing him in action in a Bath jersey:

“Mark is a scrum half who challenges opposition defences around the ruck and is always a threat with his darting runs.

“He is physical player with a fine pass and accurate kicking game. We are all looking forward to him joining Bath Rugby and be able to see him playing a style of game that suits his strengths.”
